Testing
Geographe Energy offers comprehensive valve testing and recertification services at all of our repair facilities and able to gas test your equipment to 20,000 PSIG with capability of testing up to 42” NB x 900# valves without compromise to safety and quality. Geographe Energy’s testing facilities can simulate onshore and offshore actual working conditions to ensure complete integrity of overhauled equipment.
This includes:
- Hydrostatic Testing
- High Pressure Gas Testing to 20,000 PSIG (monitored using CCTV)
- Torque Testing
- Cryogenic Testing
- Offshore Containers, for testing onsite
Specialised Pressure Testing
Geographe Energy has Hydrostatic testing facilities to 20,000 PSIG, having digital chart recording and calibrated ‘Budenberg’ gauges. The systems are manufactured from Stainless Steel and can be transported to site if required.
Geographe Energy also has a Gas Booster system, designed for testing with Nitrogen to 20,000 PSIG. It has digital chart recorders, flow meters and Budenberg gauges. Submerged Gas Testing is currently carried out in a steel tank capable of holding a 40” x 900# Ball Valve and protected by reinforced precast concrete walls. This is watched via close circuit TV (Monitor positioned in Gas testing unit). The Gas System is manufactured from Stainless Steel and can be transported to site if required.
Geographe Energy’s nitrogen gas testing facility can simulate offshore and onshore actual working conditions to ensure complete integrity of overhauled equipment.
Torque Testing
Geographe has an extensive range of ‘NORBAR’ torque testing equipment ranging from hand held audio alarmed wrenches to pneumatic units with various transducers and digital readouts. The pneumatic units are used for recording breakout, run and re-seat torque figures when carrying out ‘Valve to Actuator’ compatibility checks.
All equipment is calibrated to the requirements of our ‘ISO 9001’ and NATA accreditation.
Due to demand from our customers and the desire to supply a ‘Best in class’ service to the oil and gas industry, Geographe Energy personnel designed it’s own toque testing equipment. These torque testing units are capable of measuring up to 100,000NM of torque, which, in practical terms, incorporates up to and including 40” valves at all pressure ratings.
The units designed by Geographe utilise tried, tested and proven torquing equipment incorporated in a user friendly / valve friendly configuration culminating in a portable, accurate and fit for purpose piece of equipment. The units come in various sizes, depending on torque characteristics, and are therefore as compact a design as possible. This ensures that onsite testing is achievable without the need for modification to surrounding enclosures or pipework.
